The call for applications from the Sofia University will be released shortly for the admission of 50 students to the Degree in Medicine and Surgery course at the same Bulgarian university held entirely in English and reserved for foreign students.
As we have already explained in this article, Sofia's represents a valid alternative to those students who want to specialize in medicine and who do not want to submit to the sword of Damocles of the mandatory entrance test in Italian universities.
Already today there are more than a thousand Italian students enrolled in the University's degree course in Medicine and Surgery, whose entrance test is considerably simpler than the Italian one, created solely to ascertain the biology and chemistry skills of aspiring doctors.
Passing this test is also facilitated by the possibility of participating in pre-courses, specifically in chemistry and biology, which the university itself offers in the month of September and which serves to prepare students for the entrance test.
Less competition, and also less nepotism, compared to the Italian university, simpler entrance tests with preparation for the same provided by the University of Sofia; these are the two ingredients that should push those who want to choose Sofia as the international destination in which to specialize in medicine in a context of high scientific caliber and itself very international.
The course is in fact attended by children from all EU nations. A meeting of great growth therefore, not only cultural but also human for young people who leave high school without knowing too much about the world.
The degree course in Medicine and Surgery at Sofia University is delivered according to the curricular standards of the directives 2005/36/EC of October 2007 and 2013/55/EC of November 2013 em>.
Adherence to these standards means that those who graduate in Medicine and Surgery in Sofia can see their qualification "automatically" recognized in all European Union states. What does it mean? It means that it is possible to obtain a degree in Bulgaria and then attend specialization in Italy or continue to specialize in Bulgaria.
The course lasts 6 years, just like in Italy, organized according to 12 semesters. Let's try to put ourselves in the shoes of the parents of young people who intend to follow a degree course in Medicine and Surgery in Sofia, Bulgaria, and let's try to ask ourselves what is certainly their main question, that is, how is it done?
